Marine Docks and Jetties
Marine facilities often involve reinforced concrete and steel H, pipe or sheet piling. Tidal variations range drastically, from a few feet in Florida to over twenty feet in Alaska. Potential storm damage varies also. Remediation work may require accommodating heavy tourist travel that narrows available strategies. All of these factors must be reviewed before deciding on an appropriate corrosion control strategy. Tinnea & Associates has dealt with all of the above issues and has extensive experience in the design of marine facility corrosion control.

Submerged Power Cables
The armor on submarine cables can be a favorable ground return path in sea water or brackish environments. This can lead to severe corrosion damage of the cables where earth currents discharge from the armor. Tinnea & Associates can provide inspection services, including GPS based corrosion surveys, to locate problem areas. Diver or submersible inspection can then concentrate on areas where the damage is occurring.

Submerged Piping
Tinnea & Associates has worked for many years on marine outfall and intake lines. These range from sewer outfall lines to aquarium and fishhatchery intakes. We have worked with professional divers to visually inspect the lines and have provided over-the-line surveys.
